The Jeju Island in South Korea has seen a 20 percent rise in the number of UAE tourists during the first half of 2017, according to the Jeju
Island Tourism Organisation.  It is the largest off the coast of the Korean Peninsula and is known for its posh country and seaside.
It contains the World Heritage Site Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes.

Mount Halla, the Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls, Hallim Park, Yakcheonsa Temple, Manjanggul and the Jeju Stone Statue Park is included as

the top attraction in this Island.

Jeju has four seasons and has the smallest annual range of temperature, where the annual average temperature is about 16 degrees

Celsius. Furthermore, the island became a prime destination for medical tourism. It is home to four general hospitals and 800 clinics

that offer specialised medical treatments including cosmetic surgery, skin care and allergy treatment.

Jeju is also becoming a Muslim-friendly destination, offering Muslim visitors with prayer room facilities, with plans to ensure halal-

certified food is served on the island. Visitors to Korea's biggest island can partake in a number of sports activities including hiking

the country's highest mountain Hallasan, climbing the Seongsan Ilchul-Bong cone and walking across the Jeju Olle Trails.

Afterwards, they can enjoy seafood delights caught by the haeneyos, South Korean female free divers. Korea as a whole saw a 7.4

percent rise in tourists from the Middle East during the since 2016, with over 10,277 tourists having visited the country in the first

half of 2017 alone, according to a recent report from the Korea Tourism Organization.

Jeju Island offers visa-upon-arrival to 180 nationalities including Emiratis. “Tourists visiting Jeju will be awestruck with the island's many

destinations, including crystal blue beaches, green countryside and historical and natural sites. In addition, there are wide choices of

hotels that can suit their budget,” said H.E. Seongtae Jeon, Vice Governor for Administrative Affairs of the Jeju Special Self-Governing

Province, who was in Dubai for a promotional event this weekend.
